The leading IT system integrators (SIs), system builders and retailers in India have formed a nation-wide association named-Association of System Integrators and Retailers in Technology (ASIRT). The launch of this association will be officially announced on March 16, 2012. "Having taken the initiative to form this association, we aim to bring together all the system integrators, system builders and retailers under one platform to build partnership with vendors and discuss to sort out various problems which can hamper the IT business further. It will help this community of IT companies to reach higher goals and expand business boundaries. And, no IT trader and reseller can be a part of this association," said Chetan Shah, MD, Xpress Computers, who is one of the governing board members of ASIRT.

Currently, there are about 20 members with the association including 7 governing bodies and about 15 promoters with the newly formed association. Speaking exclusively to The DQWeek about the selection of the president of the association, Shah said, "Currently, we are under the process of selecting the president and the VP of the association and for that we are executing so many legal procedures. But, after March 16, we will be in a state to name them." He added that until the president is selected, the governing body of 7 members will be in charge of looking after the corporate and financial affairs of the association.

When asked about the future of ASIRT in the midst of all the major associations like TAIT and ISODA, Shah explained, "Instead of standing as a competitor, I am certain that all the associations nationwide would definitely render helping hands to support the objective of ASIRT." ASIRT aims to build its member base to include over 200 system builders, system integrators and retailers from Maharashtra and gradually in Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai. It will then build other chapters across the country.
