"We are trying to get the best of optical dealers in Delhi, to promote
our products as we see Delhi as a very volatile market, because much of buying
here is impulsive buying", said Ajit Karunakaran, Country Man-ager (Data
Storage), Imation India.

The company is targeting the SOHO and home user segments with a multiple
footprint strategy for up-country markets. "We are trying to bring our
channel partners up the value chain in terms of giving them a reas-onable
product mix to offer to our customers."

The company is planning a series of such brand promotion meets across the
country beg-inning with May 12 in Kolkata and May 14 in Guwahati.

markets. We see tremendous potential for optical data storage products in areas
like Haryana, Chandigarh, UP and HP," said Karunakaran.

As a roadmap, Imation is taking a district wise region centric approach
towards brand promotion in north India.

The company plans to further expand its network to over 60 B and C class
cities across India.
