Illegal exchange racket busted

In a series of unearthing illegal exchanges, the Department of Telecom (DOT)

was once again successful in busting an illegal exchange in Hyderabad. The

illegal exchange was connected Internet with Internet Leased Line from 'Southern

Online' an internet service provider operating in the city, with optical fiber

cable on one side and 48 CDMA Fix Wireless Terminals (FWTs) and six GSM routers

to route the illegal international calls in local network.

Some spare/used FWTs were are also found on the spot. The Hyderabad Police

have arrested two persons in this connection and registered a case under the

relevant sections of Indian Telegraph Act 1885.
