Speaking to The DQ Week, Gopi Varma, president, ICRRA said, "This year, our association's prime focus is to start dialogue with regional recycler companies and educate them on the quality of re-manufactured cartridges. With the entry of FDI in retail, companies which are into re-manufacturing of cartridges face a threat, and therefore, to protect our industry, we have planned to initiate these regional chapters. To begin with, we will have our first regional chapter in Chennai on January 7, followed by Delhi and Mumbai."

The objective of this chapter is to bring together Chennai re-manufacturing companies and create awareness on the re-engineering and re-manufacturing of cartridges at both refilling companies and end-customers level. The association feels that recyclers have to buck up in terms of quality and service support to its customers, otherwise their survival will be difficult.

Currently, the association has 130 members from across India and with these chapters, it will further enhance our member base and reach to newer cities. Broadly, ICRRA has been instrumental in increasing market awareness and promote the use of recycled products. The association has been conducting hands-on training programs and seminars for its members from time to time.

Moreover, the association will also be holding its election in the month of February for the post of president, VP, secretary, and treasurer.
