Bill Junction Payment Ltd-the e-commerce outfit of ICICI Ltd-will extend its universal online payment system, electronic bill presentation and payment (EBPP) to Thiruvananthapuram in association with a public sector unit, Keltron. Gradually, a few more cities in Kerala will be included in the online payment scheme.
An agreement regarding this was signed between Keltron and Bill Junction recently in the state. The facility is currently available in Bangalore, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi and Pune for presentation and payment of recurring bills including utility bills, telephone bills, mobile phone bills, credit card bills, Internet renewals and insurance premiums through the Net.
The service will be gradually extended to cover all type of recurring payments like school fees, cable charges and alike. Thereby, billjunction.com will become a one-stop payment destination for customers and avoid default of payments and consequent penalties or disconnection of services. Application forms for registration are available on the website itself.
The main advantage of the scheme is that it can be availed by anyone who has a bank account not necessarily with ICICI bank account. The user need not have any computer or Internet connection even. The service can be availed from browsing centers. This will enable subscribers of utility services to avoid the cumbersome process of remembering the date of each payment, going to bank, arranging cash and standing in queues
Billjunction.com also provides email alters on presentation of bills, predefined number of days before due date, debit of customers account and on receiving payment. Details of payments made through the system can be archived for one year online and for three years offline.
Among the major partners of Billjunction include BPL Mobile, Orange, BSES, BEST, MSEB, MTNL, BSNL, Thane Municipal Corporation, Satyam, Rolta, AirTel, Escotel, Essar, Karnataka Power Transmission Corp Metro Water and Indian Medical Association.
