IBM India Ltd has announced its latest initiative in alignment with the
company's strategy to focus on channels and best-of-breed business partners to
develop successful e-business infrastructure in the country. The IBM eServer
xSeries and Intellistation products division has launched Startrek--a program
developed specifically for business partners in the country.

The program is valid until September and business partners can register by
filling in a form provided by IBM.

The program includes cash incentives for every single xSeries and
Intellistation product sold--be it an entry level product or a high-end product.
There are additional incentives for business partners who sell high end storage
with any xSeries product. Further additional incentives will be offered to
business partners who are able to sell specific solutions like Linux, ERP, SAP
etc with an xSeries product.

Elaborated Alok Ohrie, Country Manager (Channels), IBM India, "This
initiative further reinforces our commitment towards providing organizations
across all segments--be it the SME segment or large companies--with a complete
portfolio of products and solutions to cater to their diverse business
requirements. IBM along with our business partners will continue to support this
movement and help organizations protect their IT investments in the long
run."

In addition to this, IBM India has also kicked off a series of xSeries
channel education programs that will provide "xSeries Sales
Specialist" certification to sales representatives. With this
certification, sales representatives will be kept abreast with the latest
developments on products and technology that are being offered by IBM in the
space. This, in turn, will add value to business partners while addressing
diverse clients' requirements.
