IBM appoints Modi Peripherals as its north India disti
Delhi based Modi Periphe-rals has been appointed as the
regional disti for the northern India region. Right now Modi will be focusing on
the entry-level notebooks.
Said Anuj Modi, "IBM wanted a disti for their products
and as Modi is a very respected company, it chose us as its regional disti."
Modi is on an expansion plan and this is all a part of it.
According to Modi, though it has received some offers from vendors, it will
decide with whom to go. It has plans to grow both geographically and increase
its product line.
It has plans to start opera-tions in Madhya Pradesh, Har-yana
and UP, which will be either retail outlets or channel disti. In coming months,
it will also be appointing its own dealers.
Right now, they will not be providing the after-sales
ser-vices, as IBM doesn’t have the policy of giving after-sale service to the
third party. But it aims at making it contribute 30 percent of revenue of Modi.
