IBM has announced the availability of new high-performance, integrated midmarket servers and operating system software designed to help customers reduce the cost of running an e-business. The new IBM eServer models are loaded with innovative enterprise server management solutions aimed at helping customers manage infrastructure complexity and reduce their costs by as much as 25 percent.

"Customers tell us they need integrated, cost-effective solutions to manage their growing e-business infrastructures. While our competitors are talking about it, IBM is delivering. With today's announcement we're providing simple, integrated, self-managing software, services and servers to help small and mid-sized business drive down cost and complexity, while continuing to build their e-infrastructures," said Basu Huukadli, Country Manager, System Sales, IBM India.

IBM eServer iSeries is powered by the latest generation of IBM POWER microprocessors made with silicon-on-insulator transistors and copper wiring. The high-end eServer i840 is the first in the industry to exceed 132,000 operations per second in the industry-standard SPECjbb2000 Java server benchmark. A single iSeries server can support up to 31 separate Linux partitions.
