Hutch has unveiled its brand for its subscribers in east UP.
According to the company, the service has been started with a promise of world
class mobile telephony through improved network quality, customer care
initiatives and a range of value added services.
The company has reiterated its total commitment of Rs 440
crore which includes a net-work investment of Rs 300 crore till the end of 2004
for these initiatives. This was ann-ounced at a press conference by Asim Ghosh,
MD, Hutchison Essar in Lucknow on January 28.
According to the company release, network has been
strengthened by upgrading the existing infrastructure and installing additional
cell sites and switches and upgrading the platform for prepaid subscribers.
Commenting on Hutch’s network and footprint in the state,
Gurdeep Singh, COO, Hutch (east UP) said, "With the investment in network,
Hutch subscribers will experi-ence extended coverage acr-oss key corridors on
highways and rail routes between Luck-now, Kanpur, Allahabad and Varanasi.
Additionally, Hutch will soon have a larger prese-nce across the state–from
the current 65 key locations with 225 cell sites, it will soon increase to cover
80 locations with 400 cell sites."
The company has intro-duced a number of initiatives on its
service front like ‘Hutchworld’, a 32 K SIM card and value added services
like cricket updates, ring tones, etc at a touch of a button or through the
Voice Response System.
The company also informed that Hutch (east UP) subscri-bers
will now be able to roam globally across 132 countries and 220 networks. It has
also started with round-the-clock customer care for its subscribers.
