Hughes wins V&D top VSAT equipment vendor award

Voice & Data, an Indian communications industry magazine, has announced
that Hughes Network Systems India has emerged as the leader in the satellite
communications space in India. As per the 9th National Telecom Survey brought
out by the magazine, Hughes Network Systems India was awarded the top VSAT
equipment vendor in India for the second year in succession.

As per the report-in the VSAT equipment space, Hughes Networks Systems
India, emerged as the leader by selling 9,593 VSATs worth Rs 125 crore in
2003-04. This represents a 37 percent growth in volume; having sold 7,000 VSAT's
worth Rs 109 crore in 2003-03. As per Voice&Data, Hughes maintained the lead
both in unit terms and turnover over its competition in India.

Pranav Roach, President, Hughes Network Systems India, said, "An
important reason the company continues to lead the market segment is the
contin-uous product enhancement and performance by the leading provider of
satellite network solutions and product provider, Hughes Network Systems,
