The vendor pricing the least for one laptop (tier-3 partner price) will be the given the opportunity to supply 1000 laptops. The proposal was sent to HP, Lenovo, Sony and Dell and out of them, three companies which showed eagerness to participate in the scheme were asked to quote the lowest Tier-3 price for single laptop.

A tender process was conducted in Coimbatore and it is said that HP won the process by quoting the least price. The laptops will be distributed in the first week of February. Also, according to the agreement between the association and the winning vendor, HP is set to sponsor the forthcoming annual summit of the association.

Speaking to ‘The DQ Week', Muthiah Pillai, the president of the committee said, "There is no change in the distribution model of the laptops. The distributors of HP in each and every region will bill the T3 dealers in their respective region and in every transaction the regional distributor will offer INR 1000 to the Confed-ITA association." Pillai said this as an effort to generate revenue for the summit.
