HP India Pvt Ltd has rolled out a slew of storage products in the market. According to Avijit Basu, Marketing Manager (NSSO), HP India, these products would boost channel sales apart from increasing both the volumes and bottomlines of the channel. The products that have been launched include Tape Dat 72 GB, EVA 3000, Gen 2 Libraries and Switches SAN.
"With the launch of these products, it should help to sell cost effective solutions in the mid size enterprises," explained
Basu.
These products were introduced in eight cities and training was also imparted to the channel partners.
HP Storage also conducted a four-day offsite for its channel partners in Ananda Resorts recently, where the team discussed various success stories, product rollouts, roadmap and strategy for the group in the remaining year.
Apart from this, HP also conducted a soft selling workshop for them in negotiation skills. "We feel that the channel should not remain just a box pusher but also should add value, therefore, we held the negotiations skills workshop," he added. "The entry level libraries that we have launched would surely benefit the people who want to store information."
Speaking about the new products, Basu said, "The HP StorageWorks DAT 72 Tape Drive provides reliable, cost-effective data protection for entry-level to mid-range servers and high-end workstations. It stores 72 GB of compressed data within 3.5 hours, making it ideal for storage-hungry applications. And EVA 3000 is one of the industry's first enterprise-class storage arrays for the mid-range market. HP's eva3000 offers high-end performance, enterprise-class functionality along with HP's industry leading VersaStor technology."
As far as services are concerned, HP provides the backend support while the channel partners would provide the first hand support.
Basu further said that it would now also be concentrating on the B and C cities. "After interacting with the people in these cities we have come to realize their needs. More awareness about the products is required. Some resellers complained about the lack of knowledge they have about the products. So we have taken the initiative to keep updating them on our products and technologies and therefore organize training programs."
Hence, HP plans to organize events, seminars and workshops to update the resellers. This quarter it would organize roadshows in eight more B and C class cities.
as because of the high maintenance cost.
