HP showcased its strategy for the Open Source community in India at Linux
Bangalore/2004. The com-pany's Linux Strategy focuses on open systems, open
stan-dard and low cost industry-standard platforms. The baseline element for HP's
"Linux for the Real World" strategy is on industry stan-dard open
platforms. The next key element of the strategy is the ability to deploy with
confidence. The third element is a focus on end-to-end solu-tions. The last
pillar of the strategy that HP has in order to deliver a real-world solution for
Linux is around freedom and flexibility and the best return on investment.
"HP has already contributed and will continue to contribute key
technologies to the Open Source community. We contri-bute and also give
developers the opportunity to contribute back to the Open Source
community," said Faisal M Paul, Country manager, HP India Sales Pvt Ltd
high performance computing and Linux.
HP formed the Open Source and Linux Operation to coordi-nate HP's
company-wide Linux strategy and industry leaders from HP will utilize Linux
Bangalore/2004 to communi-cate its Open Source initiative to the Linux
community.
