HP has launched a series of consumer notebooks - Compaq Presario V2100
Notebook series featuring the LightScribe technology. Apart from Light-Scribe,
these notebooks also offer BrightView technology, which improves contrast of the
notebook display screen for clarity. The notebooks feature 1.7 GHz. Celeron
process with 256MB RAM and 6-in-1-memory card reader which enables speedy
transfer of files and information. The Compaq Presario V2148 notebook with
LightScribe technology is priced at Rs 69,990.
LightScribe Direct Disc Labeling is a new technology, invented by HP that
enables consumers to burn labels directly on their discs using the drive's
existing laser. Detailing the use of this technology, Rajiev Grover, Sales
Manager (Consumer Portables Categ-ory), said, "This technology will offer
consumers and businesses alike a simple, no-hassle way to burn profes-sional
quality labels. Business executives can give their CDs a more professional look
with these customized labels, consumers can jazz up discs of their favorite
music with a personalized labels, etc."
