unveiled new range of servers called
'ProLiant Micro servers' especially for SMB's recently in
Bengaluru. The server is priced at Rs 25,000 and comes with benefits
like replacement, one year warranty etc. Rajesh Dhar,
Director-Industry Standard Servers, HP Enterprise Business said,
'We were analyzing the SMB market from a long time and found an
immediate requirement for servers built specifically for them.
Consciously we have made the product affordable and added features
like low energy consumption, compact and improved sharing of
equipment.”

HP plans to also extend financial
support, installation services and immediate response in case of
repairs. Dhar remarked, “Usually in upcountry market SMB's have
less than 10 employees. The usual concerns are warranty and after
sales service. We have tried to give them a product which will
satisfy their needs and concerns. We reached this decision only after
a series of talks with our partners.” Currently HP is using its
existing
partner base and spreading around 200 cities in India. Talking about
partner advantage Dhar said, “We are giving best technology
(Microsoft operating system) bundled with aptly priced product.
Partners can increase their revenue later by offering services.
Leveraging over 20 years in server leadership and innovation,
ProLiant server is a no-compromise, compact server designed to fit
into office environments with a versatile appearance and quiet
operations.” The company has over 800 partners and is banking
heavily on acceptance of the range. Dhar concluded, “We know the
servers will be accepted by the market. We have always kept partners
interest first and with these servers they will gain more, which in
turn is beneficial for entire ecosystem.”
