While Vadodra and Gujarat gear up to celebrate Navratras, it seems that that
the channel partners are not pleased with the HP Compaq laptop sales in Vadodra.
“Due to the lack of advertisements and promotions, HP Compaq laptop sales have
gone down considerably in the local region resulting in a bad market growth.
Being an exclusive HP partner for the past 12 years, the decrease in the number
of sales of the HP Compaq laptops is disturbing for me. There have been no
advertisements in the local newspapers, no hoardings, brochures which could have
made people aware of the HP Compaq products,” said Ashish Parmar, PropÂrietor,
Aashnik, Vadodra.
With most of the sales happening during the festive season in Vadodra, it
seems that HP Compaq sales will be reeling under a major drop this year.
According to the channel partners in Vadodra, HP has not shown much interest in
the marketing activities which has led to the drastic change in the sales
figures.
Talking about the same topic, Manish Shroff, Proprietor, Shroff IT, Gujarat,
said, “We will be losing our customers for HP Compaq laptops and unlike previous
year, HP has not delivered a decent business in the local regions of Gujarat. It
also depends upon the pricing factor, some people buy HP products from Ahmedabad
which they buy at a cheaper price considering the price is really high if one
buys from Vadodra.”
Considering the fact that HP showed growth in the beginning of the FY'
2008-09, the drop in sales is certainly affecting the channel partners in a huge
manner. Inspite of regular complaints from the channel partners they claim that
there has been no stern action from HP.
Regional representative of HP Compaq products, Gujarat for his view on the
issue, he refused to comment.
