Thiruvananthapuram-based Healthcare Media Pvt Ltd (HMP) has become the first pureplay health care company to obtain CMM Level 3 of the Software Engineering Institute of Carnegie Mellon University. KPMG Executive Director V Kannan handed over the certificate to Joe Mathew of HMP at a simple function here at Technopark recently. HMP officials termed it as a major achievement for an IT company both at the national and global level. Quality Registrars of KPMG carried out this assessment for the Software Capability Maturity Model

(SW-CMM).

The SEI-CMM is widely regarded as the best means to measure the quality and maturity of an organization's software development and maintenance processes. The Level 3 SW-MM assessment signifies that HMP has a well-defined, repeatable process for developing and maintaining software solutions that is integrated into its management processes. Only few organizations worldwide had achieved Level 3 capability maturity, as reported to the SEI. HMP is the first pure play Healthcare Company in the world to obtain CMM Level 3.

"This is one of the most significant milestones HMP has reached in its continuous journey to improve quality and gain new heights in customer satisfaction," said George Samuel, Chief Executive Officer. "We are extremely pleased to be joining a select band of organizations worldwide that are at this level of capability maturity. This assessment validates our capabilities in ensuring top quality, reducing risks, and deploying successful e-business solutions for our customers."
