In a startling development on Dec 24, three senior people from Microsoft resigned from the company and decided to move on.
News first came in of Anil Sethi, Group Director-OEM Business, Microsoft India putting in his papers. According to industry sources, it is not clear where Sethi is going. Replying to a text message about the development and confirming the news Sethi said, “At the moment I am evaluating my future career move including a possible venture. I will keep you posted when I have more news.”
Sethi was heading the OEM business of the software giant since Nov 2007. The OEM unit at Microsoft works in close partnerships with organizations like HCL Infosystems, Zenith, Dell, HP, and the system builder channel to ensure that consumers are able to get Microsoft OS on any hardware of their choice.
By evening news came in that even Kiran Mani who was Director-Business Strategy and Marketing, Microsoft and Chandan Sonowal, Director, System Builders, Microsoft have also left the organization.
When contacted, Microsoft India's official spokesperson confirmed the development and said, “We have to respect the decision of the employees who have chosen to make this decision for their own aspirations outside of Microsoft. While it is unfortunate that it has all come together, we respect their decision. We wish them the best in their future endeavors.”
