With the growing demand of converged solutions for enterprises and data centers, Hitachi Data Systems is also all set to expand its converged datacenter solutions (CDCS) offering in the Indian market by the next quarter in the current fiscal.

Explaining this strategic focus, Yogesh Sawant, Director, Partner Sales and Field Alliance Organization, India, Hitachi Data Systems, said, "Hitachi Data Systems' (HDS) converged data center solutions (CDCS) is a single hardware appliance that combines compute, network and storage. Unlike competitive offerings, the entire appliance, which is a preconfigured and pre tested block, is owned by HDS. Currently HDS offers solutions for SAP HANA and Microsoft Exchange and plans to launch solutions with VMware, Cisco and Oracle in the next quarter."

According to the company, the CDCS will initially focus mainly on Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore as HDS' Tier 1 partners including Wipro, HCL, Accel, TCS and many are located in these cities along with their strong pan-India presence. Other Partners (Tier 1 and 2) can also work on a project basis if they have the adequate expertise required for CDCS.

Further speaking about the significance of the converged solutions to the partner community, Sawant said, "Currently, we have about 60 odd VARs and they contribute to about 60 percent to our overall revenue structure. And, our converged solution will give customers a single point of contact and give partners control over the technology decisions that customers make, thereby increasing the value for the customers."

HDS aims to execute all of its market opportunities through its channel partners. It offers partners services like Managed Storage services that they can go to market with. The company is working to offer more value-added services to its customers with utilities like the HDS Managed Service Utility. HDS also offers white labeling services around storage that their partners can go to market with.

"We also conduct regular training programs aiming to enable our partner community to deliver better services to customers and are also investing in the form of scholarship programs, technology refresh courses, new products and solutions. HDS is also looking to roll out many programs especially services specialization programs (SSPs)," said Sawant.
