Citrix Systems India Ltd has announced that HDFC Bank has deployed Citrix MetaFrame XPe application server solution for centralized delivery of business-critical applications. The Citrix deployment would increase the operational efficiency of HDFC Bank by facilitating application deployment from a central server and cost-benefits through centralized management and optimizing network connectivity.
With the support of Wipro, a Citrix Regional Solutions Integrator, HDFC Bank successfully deployed Citrix MetaFrame, providing over 1,800 users with fast and reliable access to critical applications including treasury, cash management, correspondent banking and core wholesale banking solutions.
With over 233 branches and 750-networked ATMs spread across 125 cities, HDFC Bank offers a full line of financial services to retail and corporate customers throughout India. All branches are linked on an online real-time basis. The implementation of Citrix MetaFrame XPe has seamlessly integrated all corporate banking functions.
With applications being centralized on servers, maintenance and upgrade activities that used to take weeks are now done in hours. The inter-operability of the Citrix solution has also proved beneficial. Hence, HDFC Bank employees can now use multiple applications with improved efficiency and reliability. In addition, on a strategic level, Citrix application server software solution made available real-time customer information to all end users thereby enabling better service and faster response.
