Intransa, provider of network-centric, enterprise IP-storage systems, has
entered into a strategic soft-ware license/OEM partnership with HCL Infosystems,
an information enabling comp-any. Under the agreement, Intransa's StorControl
soft-ware would run on HCL Global Line servers. This agreement is expected to
enable HCL In-fosystems to deliver true, top-of-the-line IP SAN systems powered
by Intransa.
Designed as an alternative for IT planners and administrators to build,
manage and scale storage infrastructures, the HCL IP SAN sys-tem, powered by
Intransa, is targeted at small, medium and large enterprise environments. The IP
SAN system will utilize the customer's existing Ether-net and IP
infrastructure and the TCP/IP skill sets of its IT technicians, enabling enterp-rise
storage planners to conso-lidate distributed storage resources, control rising
sto-rage costs and implement LAN-free backups and restoration, in addition to
compre-hensive disaster recovery practices.
"The demand for true IP SAN systems is exploding in India and with
Intransa's software IP SAN technology HCL Infosystems has set its sights on
becoming the domi-nant player in the SAN space," said George Paul,
Marketing VP, HCL Infosystems.
"We're very pleased that HCL is using Intransa software to power their
IP SAN system. The HCL OEM partnership is a great example of Intransa's 'go
to market' software strategy," said Dr Avi Katz President and CEO,
Intransa. "HCL has a long tradition of providing innova-tive technologies
that deliver exceptional value to their large base of customers," he added.
