HCL ships out P4 with in sub Rs 40,000 range

HCL Infosystems, an information enabling corporation, has announced the launch of the latest 'Infiniti Plus' Desktops and 'Beanstalk Omega' PCs, incorporating the next generation Intel Pentium 4 Processor at a break through price tag of sub Rs 40,000. A simultaneous launch along with Intel Corporation who announced the launch of Pentium 4 processor based on Intel 845 chipset globally, the company is the first in the country to ship the latest Pentium 4 powered computers and make them available on an immediate basis to its customers.

The Infiniti Plus range of commercial desktops will be targeted at the Corporate segment across the country while the Beanstalk Omega range of PCs will target the home and the SOHO segment. The Frontline Division, pioneers in the value-added offerings to PC users and the marketing arm of HCL Insys, will market these next generation PCs through its extensive distribution network of 800 resellers and 120 retail outlets across 150 cities.

The Infiniti Plus commercial desktop will further enhance the productivity across a wide cross-section of the industry like banking, insurance, etc. Configuration of the PC is Intel Pentium 4 1.5 GHz processor, 64 MB SD RAM, 20 GB hard disk, AGB VGA 16 MB, WIN 98 preloaded - with Recovery CD, HCL keyboard and mouse and 15' color monitor. The computer comes preloaded with Norton anti virus and carries a price tag of Rs 39,500.

The BeanStalk Omega range of Personal PCs for HOME and SOHO markets comes with Intel Pentium 4 1.5 GHz, Intel 845 chipset, 256 KB FS cache, 128 Mb SD RAM, 40 GB Ultra ATA hard disk, 1 serial, 1 parallel port, 52 X multi-media kit with 300 watt speaker, 2M 64 AGB card with 32 MB VRAM with TV out, optical mouse, joy stick, 56 KBPS fax modem, WIN ME, Norton Anti-virus, 1+12 month unlimited Internet connection, one year \plain\f0\fs20 OSM\plain\f0\fs20, 15' color monitor. The price of the computer is Rs 46,490. Rajendra Kumar, Vice President, Operations, HCL Infosystems, said, "HCL has always been at the forefront of technology and has endeavored to offer the very latest to the Indian consumers on a real time basis. We launched the first desktop PC in India; we introduced the PC with a below-Rs 20,000-price range and I am glad that we have upheld that tradition even today. The new price range will add fillip to our efforts to take IT to the masses in India".
