Commenting on this, Bimal Jhaveri, director, Hardtrac Computer Services said, "We are witnessing a higher revenue growth in terms of sales of IT product sales with our retailing business. Seeing the growth of the IT retailing business especially in the desktops and laptops segments in the upcountry market, we have decided to open 4 more multi-branded retail stores in Thane and Mumbai. Indeed, we have started capitalizing on our retail business expansion."

In the last financial year 2011-12, Hardtrac Computer Services opened 4 retail outlets in the central regions of Maharshtra. And including these 4 multi-branded stores, currently, it has about 11 multi-branded retail stores in Andheri Wset, Kandivalli West, Meera Road East, Bhayander West, Vasai West, Nalasopara Wesr, Boisar West, Kalyan East, Dombivalli East, Bhiwandi and Ullhasnagar. It also has a small retail store at Lamington Road, which is an IT hub in Mumbai.

Going ahead with its retailing strategies for the desktop and laptop series in a positive wave, Jhaveri said that the new upcoming retail outlets will be multi-brand showroom focusing on the sales of branded laptops and desktops. It is adding more brands into its bandwagon including HP, Samsung, Toshiba, Sony, Lenovo, Acer, HCL and many more. The brand presence is in line with the customer demand and catering all the segments including the entry level (by HCL & Acer), mid level (by Compaq, HP, Acer, Samsung and Toshiba) and high end segment (by HP, Sony) along with Apple tablets.

According to Jhaveri, the laptop market is enormously growing and ready to capture the maximum pie with the sale of 1200-1500 laptops per month as compared to the desktop market with the sale of 300-400 all-in-ones per month. While the distribution of HP's desktops and laptops contribute to about 50-60 percent to its overall revenue structure, other brands contribute the rest.

However, Hardtrac Computer is still high on its traditional IT distribution which contributes to about 80 percent to the overall revenue structure of the company than the retailing business which occupies the rest part. "But in this ongoing financial year, we plan to register a growth of about 30 percent in our retail business. Indeed, our retail expansion plan is a part of it."
