Every new government brings lots of new projects for the development for the state and to benefit the common people. Every individual cast their vote hoping betterment in terms of development in every sector with these projects which the government starts. In Assam, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) made new government after massive victory in Vidhan Sabha election this year. But the projects started by previous government have become a noose around the necks of the IT Channel partners.

The Projects under the former government now has been stalled in this new government in which the IT partners who were involved in those projects have their bills stopped indefinitely. The IT partner fraternity has demanded the passage of those said bills and to restart those projects but the government officials have come up with excuses in which they have allegedly stated that the Central government’s funds have not been allocated for the purpose.

In a candid interaction with The DQ Week, Sajal Das, Director, SoftDTA, Guwahati said, “I was working with the IT projects started by the Congress go vernment in Assam. After formation of new government, the project has been stopped. I have a Bill amounting to 80 Lakhs of Rupees which the State government has allegedly said that the bill will be cleared once the present Central government allocates the fund for the same.”

There are also other IT partners who are involved in this project and facing the same issue, Sajal Das informed.

During the oath taking ceremony of Sarbananda Sonowal, Chief Minister, Government of Assam, PM Narendra  Modi said the Union government will work along with the Assam government for the development of the state but after seeing these state of affairs in Assam, it is rather difficult to predict for the future as to whether the current administration will fulfill the roadmap of development not only in Assam’s landscape but that of Pan India.
