All IT associations in Gujarat have decided to come together to form a common
IT body. The decision was taken during All Gujarat Associations Meet when 15
channel partner associations from the across the state converged in Ahmedabad.
The body would be known as Federation of Information Technology Associations of
Gujarat (FITAG).

All associations present during the meet agreed to be a part of FITAG. It was
decided that the president of each association would become an executive
committee member of FITAG.

“We are glad that representatives from associations across Gujarat
participated in the first ever meeting of All Gujarat Associations Meet. Apart
from the 15 associations that were present during the meet, other associations
in Gujarat are also welcome to be a part of FITAG. There are no charges to be a
member of FITAG,” said Kaushik Pandya, President, ACMA, which was the
association that hosted the All Gujarat Associations Meet.

ACMA will also be hosting the first official meeting of FITAG that will be
held on July 12, 2008 in Ahmedabad. During this meet, the names of the executive
members of FITAG would be finalized. “In the meeting scheduled for next month,
we will announce the names of all executive committee members. All associations
have been given time till then to nominate a member of their association who
would represent them at FITAG. We have also decided that the executive body must
meet every quarter to take important decisions and review the working
strategies,” added Pandya.

The main agenda of FITAG would be to fight for the common cause of dealers
across the state. The federation would help the partners address issues with not
only the vendors but also policy issues with the government.
