The second annual DQ Week Awards for East India opened to a packed Crystal
Hall at Taj Bengal, comprising who's who of the channel community in the region,
including vendors and distributors.
The chief guest at the event, Dr GD Gautama, Principal Secretary-IT,
Government of West Bengal, congratulated the DQ Week team for highlighting the
growth of IT in the state and east India and playing pioneering role in
articulating the issues and concerns of the channel community in the region.
The overwhelming response of the IT fraternity, who reached the venue, in
spite of odds like heavy and incessant shower and taxi strike in the city is
testimony to the popularity the publication enjoys, Gautama observed.
The list of dignitaries included Natesh Mani, Executive Director (New Office
Group), Xerox; Shrikant Bapat, Vice President, Emerson India and Pradeep Gupta,
CMD & Publisher, Cyber Media India Ltd.
Gupta welcomed the 370 plus audience and thanked them for their awesome
response. He also took the opportunity to share with the audience the splendid
success of Cyber Media IPO.
In recognition of the excellent work of the channel community, the DQ Week
gave away a total of 25 Awards in seven categories covering 10 cities of eastern
India, including Kolkata.
