Gionee launches Marathon M5 Mini with 4,000 mAh battery

Gionee has added yet another member to its Marathon series of smartphone with the introduction of Gionee Marathon M5 Mini in Nigeria. The company has not yet revealed the pricing of the handset but it will come in Golden colour option.

Talking about the specifications, the Gionee Marathon M5 mini features a 5-inch HD display with 1280x720 pixels resolution and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system topped with the Amigo UI of the company. Powering the device is a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 64-bit processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. Its onboard storage stands at 16GB which can be expanded further up to 128GB via microSD card.

Gionee Marathon M5 Mini comes equipped with an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front facing snapper for clicking selfies. Its connectivity attributes include 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB OTG and houses a massive 4,000 mAh battery.

Speaking at the launch, Somoye Habeeb, Marketing Director, Gionee Nigeria, said, " Gionee focuses on innovation, efficiency and affordability in ways that other brands don't. Having received a warm reception from the Nigerian market when we introduced the Gionee M5 a few months ago, Gionee is following up with the M5 Mini. The Gionee M5 Mini as the name implies, is a compact version of the M5. It is just as effective and stylish, but more affordable. It can be considered a sequel to the highly durable M5, and is the latest phone to be released in Nigeria."

Earlier this month, Gionee launched its Marathon M5 Lite in India at Rs 12,999. Gionee Marathon M5 Lite houses 4,000 mAh battery and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. The dual SIM smartphone features a quad-core processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.
