With applications like webinars, web conferencing and IPTV gaining ground in
the Indian market, D-Link India is looking at gigabit switching as one of the
key drivers for the growth of the company as well as the ecosystem of its system
integration partners in the country.
"Gigabit switching is one area where there are going to be a lot of
opportunities for system integrators. You need it at desktop level for
applications like webinars and web conferencing. India already has a lot of
R&D centers, software development houses, system integrators should look
forward to positioning gigabit switching products for these segments as there
would be a great demand there," informed, Tushar Sighat, VP, Channel
Business (India & SAARC), D-Link. He was speaking at a system integrators
focused event-Explore 2005-which D-Link is organizing in association with DQ
Channels.
Keeping its focus on the gigabit-switching segment, the company already has
around 40 authorized gigabit system integrators in India and is looking forward
to increasing this number. "As this segment is picking up in this region
and more and more applications are getting deployed, we are looking forward to
increasing the number of authorized gigabit system integrators in this region.
Typically, we are putting emphasis on access and edge solutions in this
space," he added.
Organized with an aim to educate the vibrant system integrator community of
the region about the emerging opportunities in networking segment, D-Link's
Explore 2005 saw more than 150 system integrators and solution providers
participate at its fifth venue, New Delhi. The company is looking forward to
taking this event in the Southern part of the country from here.
