Ghaziabad Computer Association elected Rajesh Gogia as Presi-dent, in a
recently held elect-ion. Earlier, he was the VP of the association. He replaced
Vijay Bamba of Computer Ghar.
Elections were held for five posts of President, VP, Sec-retary, Joint
Secretary and Treasurer. LN Singhal of 21st Century was elected as VP, Harsh
Batra of Classic Com-munication and Arun Kakkar of Nutek Computer were re-elec-ted
for the posts of Secretary and Joint Secretary respectively. Whereas, for the
post of Treas-urer, Sharad Gupta of Mother Enterprises was nominated.
Formed in June 2002, with membership strength of 60, around 43 of them casted
their votes.
GCA had planned to orga-nize an IT trade show, but will be holding it next
year. "This time of the year it becomes very hot therefore, we have decided
to hold it next year only," said Gogia. For the time being, GCA has planned
to hold blood donation camps and some other social service activities.

Like any other market, Ghaziabad dealers also face problems of payment and
the lack of proper service centers. And these are the issues it would like to
take up. "We have problems of warranty and payments, which we would like to
address. Ghaziabad also has a lack of good service centers. There is an LG
service center, but the behavior of the people there and the service is very
poor. But for Samsung and HP, there are no centers. We are in talks with HP and
they have asked us to submit a letter, which we will be doing this week,"
informed Gogia.
Said the new VP, Singhal, "I think GCA should act as a two way approach,
to encourage and increase business and do something constructive for the welfare
of the society. There is stiff competition in the market, which is now mostly
run by young people, who are not mature and have no support." He added,
"I would like to ens-ure that there is better inter-action between them, so
that there is healthy competition. Therefore, the association will have to
become the platform for such activities."
