Futurenet ventures into software services

Chennai-based Futurenet Technologies India Pvt Ltd, a consulting

and integration company, is now diversifying into software services, to increase

its marketshare. It recently floated a new company called Sarva Software

Services, which will drive the new business. Sarva has entered into the market

with a host of products for enterprise and small and medium customers.

"We were developing these products for quite sometime and

it is a result of our experience in the business, providing solutions to

companies of different size and nature. Now it is time to rollout our own

software products and services," mentioned L Ashok, MD, Futurenet.

Under Sarva, the company will offer ERP products, call and asset

management services and mail tracking solutions. While Enterprise Business

System (EBS) is the company's own ERP product, it has tied-up with Trimentus

Technologies for Scholar-a similar product. "We have also developed a

product called Assist for call and asset management, and MailStor for mail

tracking and retrieval purpose," he added. The company will sell EBS on

subscription basis and rest all as products.

Sarva will charge a one-time fee of Rs 40,000 to 80,000 for EBS

and collect Rs 750 to 800 per seat as monthly rental for EBS. The product comes

in three variants to cater to different segments such as trading, engineering

and manufacturing. Assist and MailStor are priced at Rs 80,000 each.

Futurenet has also diversified into hardware training by

launching a new division called NetSchool. The training arm will mainly cater to

internal requirements, apart from producing qualified hardware engineers for the

industry. "We train people from scratch and provide hands-on experience to

them. The course would cover all key modules like A+, CCNA, MCSE and Linux

certification program. We are going to charge only Rs 20,000 for this course and

job is assured by the company," pointed out Ashok.

Overall, the company wants to expand and diversify into many

related areas in business. "Our main aim is to increase service revenue and

be a profitable company," he added.

Futurenet is mainly into four areas of services-infrastructure

building services, infrastructure management services, storage solutions and

Linux migration services. IBM, Acer, Lenovo, EMC, 3Com, Cisco, D-Link, Dax,

Legato and Molex are some of the brands it represents in business. Last year,

the company clocked a turnover of Rs 5 crore.
