To evolve as a leading player in the Indian market, Fujitsu is revamping its
operations and is in the processes of appointing channel partners across the
country. Pallab Talukdar, CEO, Fujistu India informed that the company plans to
appoint national distributors as well as resellers, depending on the marketing
plans and potential of the partners. However, he refused to share the number of
total channel partners that Fujitsu is planning to appoint by end of the year.
“The number of channel partners or appointment of any national distributor is
yet not finalized and it will be announced as and when it is finalized,” he
said.
To start with Fujistu will be appointing resellers in the leading metros of
the country and would then move towards the upcountry market.
“We are targeting the tier-2 cities as well and will be appointing partners
there also. However, the specific cities is yet to be disclosed,” he said.
Talking about the potential of Indian market he said, “In spite of the
slowdown, Indian market is moving fast in comparison to the rest of the world.
It is an emerging market and a lot of investments are being done here. Hence,
Fujistu is aiming to leverage its market opportunities in India but it would be
a gradual process. Fujitsu is getting started in India in a robust manner and
its strategy would be to address the market in a structured way.”
When inquired with Talukdar about the challenges he is expecting to face in
the country he said, “The market is highly competitive and Fujistu is not a very
well-known brand among consumers. Therefore, we will have enhance our branding
and presence among the end customers. We will expand in a phase-wise manner.”
Besides appointing and expanding its channel base Fujitsu is also looking
forward to increasing its headcount in India, currently 60 in total. The product
portfolio of Fujitsu includes servers, storage, desktops, notebooks,
workstations and peripherals in the Indian market.
Till now, Fujitsu was distributing its products in India through various
distributors in an unstructured manner.
