Global vendor Fujitsu has planned for an aggressive entry into the consumer segment in this financial year. Many products have been announced to come in the forthcoming weeks.
Speaking on a media interaction with Cyber Media group of publications, Pallab Talukdar, CEO, Fujitsu said, "We are planning for a detailed eye into the consumer segments through various products like tablets. Fujitsu, through their partner base in India, is also interested in volume business," adding that the tablets will come with Windows as well as android platforms. "Since these types of gadgets demand a touch-and-feel and have to be demonstrated both for customers as well as partners, we are waiting for the products to come. The products will hit the market in the weeks to come," he informed.
Ramprasad Lakshminarayan, GM, channel business, Fujitsu India, said, "We have sectored the business into two. The first is the value part, for the services side, and the second is the volume part, for the hardware section. Fujitsu's major revenue of 88% emerges from the channel. And for the volume section, for which we are having big plans, the business will happen only through the distributors we have." He also said that Fujitsu India has strong presence in North, West, and South and plans are there for expansion in East. The vendor has a wide range of customers from a wide range of sectors such as government, automobile, media, and more.
