Fujifilm appoints Minissha Lamba as the brand ambassador

Fujifilm India, the world's leading imaging company and the wholly owned subsidiary of Fujifilm Holding Corporation, Japan, made its foray into interchangeable lens cameras by launching high-end interchangeable lens cameras along with a dazzling new range of spring collection. The company also announced the appointment of Minissha Lamba, the ravishing bollywood beauty, as its brand ambassador, who graced the launch ceremony.

The newly launched line-up ranges from hi-tech pro-level models to stylish compacts for the ultimate photography experience. The collection includes various cameras under EXR, T, J, A, S, L and C series. The X-Pro1 from the league of X series and Finepix JZ100 from the compact series were the highlights of the launch. The X-Pro1 is made with Fujifilm's exclusive cutting-edge technology. The new compact cameras are super stylish, slim and are available in a range of vibrant colors.

Toshi Iida, operations manager, Fujifilm, feels there is a huge potential for the Indian market. "Indian consumers love capturing beautiful moments. Our digital cameras with exciting new features at competitive prices will fulfill all their needs," said Iida.

The brand plans to emerge in the top league with their innovative cameras. According to Kenichi Tanaka, MD, Fujifilm India, "Our market share in India has increased from 2.6% to 7% in 4 years, and we target to double it by the end of next fiscal. Along with 5 branch offices, we have extensive network of retail outlets throughout the country. We have also increased our staff from around 20 to 500 in India."

The company will undertake aggressive marketing activities for brand visibility and consumer promotion. Sriwant Wariz, national marketing manager, said, "We are providing attractive EMI scheme to our customers with 0% finance for 6 months. Also, we are giving free Benetton bag worth Rs 1200 and many other accessories with the purchase of our cameras. We are on a promotion drive through PR, print, digital marketing, social media, etc. We have already garnered considerable fan base on social networking sites and we hope to increase it further. Our brand ambassador will also enhance our brand equity tremendously." On being asked what differentiates Fujifilm from other brands, Wariz said, "We have a strong background of fine film development, with a heritage of being world's leading in lens manufacture technology."

All the models launched for this season have high definition (HD) capability to shoot movies. They come packed with outstanding features like digital image stabilization, motion panorama mode, face detection technology, picture search, scene recognition auto, blink detection, and smile and shoot mode, making these digital cameras a must-buy.
