Flipkart Robbery in Gurgaon

A truck carrying Flipkart consignment was robbed on Sunday night by three youths who held the truck driver hostage at gunpoint. They stopped the truck on the KMP expressway and escaped with the costly items, leaving the driver with the remaining consignment. An FIR was lodged later by police based on the complaint by the truck driver, Raghav, the Economic Times reported.

The Flipkart robbery took place at Bilaspur Chowk around 10.30 pm on Sunday when the truck was headed from the Bilaspur-based warehouse of Flipkart to Delhi with a consignment of goods. "The men asked me to turn the truck towards KMP instead of Delhi. On reaching KMP, they made me stop the canter, opened the goods and chose the costly items. When I resisted them, they thrashed me and fled," the driver said in his complaint about the Flipkart robbery.

Bilaspur police have lodged an FIR against three unidentified youths under sections 392 (robbery), 394 (voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery) of IPC and 25-54-59 of Arms Act.

"This was Flipkart vehicle and on the complaint of driver, FIR has been registered and we are investigating into the matter with all angles", said ASI Ravi Kumar, the investigating officer.

The Flipkart robbery points to a big problem in the prospects of online shopping, as Flipkart is one of th major online platforms.
