firstRain announces technology for mobile Internet

firstRain Software Center, a company that provides infrastructure software for the next-generation web, has announced its unique technology, which will allow enterprises to extend the full capabilities of their existing e-business applications to customers and employees through any Internet-ready wireless device.

The solution is being offered in a ready-to-use suite of modular software packages that facilitates application development and wireless information delivery, besides providing a repository of snippet definitions and interface development software for wired to wireless content distribution format over the web. As a unique feature, this technology promises to detect layout changes in the website, and automatically reconfigure the mappings between the Internet application and the wireless views on the end-user devices like the personal digital assistants (PDAs) and WAP-enabled mobile phones.

firstRain's solution comes with a highly scalable wireless application platform that provides a secure, device-neutral and robust support of enterprise content and applications. Offering ease-of-use, its development environment is an intuitive point and click interface designed to eliminate the complexity of mobile site creation and maximize speed to market. As the technology operates on the presentation layer, it sits on top of the existing enterprise application. As a result, investments in existing technology applications don't become redundant.

Its target market includes enterprises across industry verticals, mobile carriers, wireless Internet Service Providers (ISPs), content distribution networks, Value-Added Service Providers (VASPs), and wireless application service providers
(ASPs).

The company will market its solutions and services in India through ARI World, an IT solutions provider.
