On 24th November FIDAK, AIT along with other IT hardware traders observed a bandh against e-commerce to which the national distributors gave time till 17th December to get back to them with some positive news. But things didn’t happen according to the plan and so FIDAK, AIT along with other IT hardware traders decided to stop purchasing from the NDs as a sign of protest against them.

To that Satyaprasad, president of AIT said, “We are observing this purchase bandh across Karnataka. Other states also observed and have done this protest and now we are also doing it. This bandh will put a pressure on NDs to talk with us. If they can’t stop the ecommerce industry to stop selling, the minimum they can do is to ask them to sell in a regular MRP or not to sell things under price.”

Adding to that he said, “In this protest we are all one as all the vendors as well as the IT associates have come together and is observing this online and offline protest. This protest is a loss for us but if we do not protest now then we have to close down our shops permanently so better to act now than its too late.”
