Data recovery company
Stellar Information Systems is in the news for all wrong reasons.
Their software called 'Black Cat' has been the cause of worry for
Tamil Nadu upcountry partners. style="background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 0%; -moz-background-clip: border; -moz-background-origin: padding; -moz-background-inline-policy: continuous;">Sadasivam,
Proprietor
of NB Tec in Karur said, “I purchased Stellar
Software 'Black Cat' from their authorized distributor style="background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 0%; -moz-background-clip: border; -moz-background-origin: padding; -moz-background-inline-policy: continuous;">RSYS,
roughly two years back. The product is supposed to be a
security cum data recovery software. On the contrary, the product
started corrupting our customer data within two weeks of
installation. Hence we complained to Stellar and also requeste style="background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 0%; -moz-background-clip: border; -moz-background-origin: padding; -moz-background-inline-policy: continuous;">d

RSYS to take sales return and refund our money. They kept
delaying things and we have not received any response.”

Ganesh Babu, Sun Systems
Coimbatore said, “I bought 100 packs of K7 Stellar 'Black Cat' data
recovery package. Till date I have been able to sell only 30 packs.
Stellar have neither supported us in any marketing activity nor have
they provided any sales assistance to us. I have already made first
and second payments but things have not improved. My clients have
suffered too.”

When the company was
contacted, their marketing team responded by saying, “We have tried
to solve the matter to our best. Why were the partners waiting for
two years to escalate the matter to us, rather than doing it
immediately? As soon as we got to know about the issue, our team have
regularly been in touch with the partners. In spite of sending
e-mails to them, nobody has responded to it. We are not aware of the
promises made by the distributor to the affected partners. In spite
of this, we are open to any form of dialogues.”

Since there are a number
of dealers, who were affected by this, Confed-ITA has taken this
issue up. The association will conduct an executive council meet next
week and decide the next course of action.
