FAIITA to take ‘Make in India' vision to the next level in its 3rd conclave

The federation will host its 3rd third conclave in Mumbai on 27th and 28th June, 2015

The Federation of All India IT Associations (FAIITA) will host its 3rd third conclave in Mumbai on 27th and 28th June, 2015. The online challenge, vendor relations and recent hike in taxes are some of the key topics on the agenda of the meeting. The federation contemplating to invite IT vendors, representatives of local administration and BJP’s National Co-Convener of IT cell Vinit Goenka.

Champakraj Gurjar, current president of FAIITA said that the conclave would work towards taking the vision of ‘Make in India’ to the next level. He said that FAIITA would take a lead to promote local manufacturing and appeal all the parent associations to encourage domestic manufacturing in their respective regions.

“FAIITA will take the vision of ‘Make in India’ to the next level. We will ask our members associations and state federations to encourage local manufacturing in their regions”, said Gurjar.

FAIITA and Computer Association of Taiwan have announced to enter into a strategic partnership. Gurjar said that both the association would sign a MoU on 6th July for three years to facilitate exchange of technology and skill sets between both the countries.

“FAIITA and Computer Association of Taiwan will sign MoU to promote trade between both the countries on 6th July in Mumbai. This will facilitate the joint ventures, delegate meets, and technology support from Taiwan to Indian manufacturers”, he said.

On the E Commerce front, Gurjar said that the federation would invite the prominent IT vendors on a common platform to discuss the seriousness of online challenge to the traditional offline channel.  Commenting on a recent hike in service tax and government’s recent notification of concessional excise duty, he said that the federation would appeal all the parent associations to take up the issue with their respective state government officials.

The two day conclave has been hosted by FITAM and it is expected to be attended by around 70-100 members.
