FAIITA advices associations to ease Purchase Refrain till Jan 14

Federation of All India IT Associations (FAIITA) has issued an advisory advising all the members to ease purchase refrain and commerce normal business, until January 14, 2014.

The decision was taken during the meeting held with representatives of MAIT on Nov 21, 2014. Considering the viewpoints of all members and vendors, FAIITA advised all the IT associations of India to ease out Purchase Restraint with immediate effect and restitute normal business.

The federation also decided to provide the vendors additional time till January 2014 to frame proper pricing policies. In the communication with the vendors, FAIITA stressed for undertaking from OEM/Brand on protecting channels against predatory pricing and creating a level playing field.

“We share the broad terms which have been desired by our members for resuming normalcy , along with some the acceptable terms which have been agreed by some of the brands”, the advisory stared.

Confirming the new advisory, K R Chaube, president of Mumbai based TAIT said that after the directives of the federation, TAIT has asked all its members to resume their normal business operations.

Gaurang Vyas, president of FITAG said, “As per directives by FAIITA we have resumed our business operations with the vendors who have shown positivesigns on solving the pricing issue. We are waiting forthe next directive by the federation.” FAIITA said that January 14, 2015 was the final time limit that its member associations have agreed to provide for correcting the problem of predatory pricing currently being faced by channel partners.

“We earnestly hope that this window of time will provide the opportunity for all Brands to come out with the solution and the legalities required for addressing the root cause of this problem”, FAIITA said.
