In a rare event, an
expelled member of Computer Dealers' Association of Tirunelveli
(CDAT) recently filed a case against the association for allegedly
expelling him from the forum. It is understood that S
Sivasubramaniann, of Viswa Rakksha Soft Tech, Tirunelveli, has been
associated with the association since 2007. The tussle ignited with
the insurance amount he received which was covered under the group
insurance scheme by the association. “I did not receive the amount
which I should get. When I asked the association why they gave me
lesser amount, I did not get any satisfactory reply,”
Sivasubramaniann told The DQWeek. Sivasubramaniann added that
he was expelled from the association for not selling hardware
products. “I have all the evidence for selling hardware products
but with no proper explanation, I was sacked. Of course, I am running
another account consultancy which is a sister concern of Viswa
Rakksha Soft Tech. Considering that, I have been sacked which is not
fair,” said Sivasubramaniann.
This sequence of events
has triggered Sivasubramaniann to knock the doors of Tirunelveli
court. “I firmly believe in law
and justice,” concluded Sivasubramaniann. However, when contacted, the
executive committee
(EC) members of CDAT rubbished all his statements. “According to
the association's norm, only hardware sellers are privileged to be
a member and we acted on it,” said an EC member on condition of
anonymity. The member also said that not only Sivasubramaniann, there
were some more members who were expelled from the association but no
one made this an issue. It is also said that the decision was not
taken by a single person but unanimously by the members.
Speaking on the issue, A
Muthuswamy, president,
href="https://www.dqweek.com/confed-ita-to-implement-its-soul-project">Confed-ITA,
explained that Confed-ITA is just
an advisory body and it will not be involved in any of the internal
issues of the district association. He, however, said that when there
are other ways to approach the association, we wonder, why he went to
the court. Muthuswamy added that the expelled member might have
called for a general body meeting and would have discussed the issue
there but he failed to do so.
