Eastern Software System (ESS) has bagged a turnkey project for complete
automation of Ovhal Dairy based at Pune. Maharashtra Dairy Industry evaluated
ESS' ERP product ebizframe and analyzed the 'results versus spend' in
implementations of ESS. Post this evaluation and analysis, it awarded the
company the first order for automating the newly built Pune unit. Maharashtra
Dairy Industry also evaluated ERP offerings from large brands, including global
majors in the domain, before finally selecting ESS' ebizframe as the solution
for its integrated IT system.

According to Anil Bakht, Chairman and MD, Eastern Software Systems, “As a new
dairy, Ovhal wanted an assured and rapid implementation in a cost-effective
manner and chose our ebizframe for its successful track-record in the dairy
industry. This is in perfect accordance with the aggressive strategy that we
have charted out for the dairy vertical in the country. It is a matter of
immense pride for Team ESS to be associated with Maharashtra Dairy Industry.”

SS foresees an immense business potential in the dairy vertical. It is known
that India's output of milk and milk products has outpaced that of the world in
terms of percentage growth. The country will account for nearly half of the
expected growth and total output from Asia. This is primarily in response to the
internal demand growth and is sustained by increasing productivity. Given the
recent high international prices, Indian dairies have made aggressive forays
into international markets and are expected to export 3,00,000 ton of dairy
products.

Prior to this major accomplishment, ESS' ebizframe has been the chosen ERP at
some of the formidable names in the Indian dairy industry, which include the
likes of Amul (Kaira District Milk Cooperative Union based at Anand in Gujarat),
Vadodra Dairy, Sugam Dairy and Vidya Dairy.

Buoyed by the recent successes in the segment, ESS has charted out an
aggressive marketing and business development road map for the industry. It
shall be targeting more dairies in the immediate future, especially in the
Saurashtra region, which is recognized as the dairy belt of the country besides
other known dairy pockets. It will also leverage upon the nuances of the
vertical and the resulting customizations that it tailored while implementing
the solution at the dairies, helping it attain even greater domain expertise and
specialization.
