India, recently
introduced two new printers-Epson L100 Inkjet and Epson L200 Inkjet
All-in-one. The former is priced at Rs 8,999 and the latter at Rs
10,999. These products were launched in Chennai, because of the fact
that South India holds 35-40% of Epson's marketshare.
Over the
years, consumers of Inkjet printers in India had concerns over the
cost of ink cartridges.
However, many non-genuine cartridges which are cheaper and more
likely to spoil the quality printer entered the market and created
consequences. But these newly launched printers are supposed to be
both cost effective and highly productive. With each set of one black
and three color inks, the printers offer an extremely low cost of
0.10 paise per black page and 0.20 paise per color page.
Speaking on
the launch, SM Ram Prasad, deputy GM, consumer product, Epson India
said, “These printers can be used for both commercial and
residential needs. We have designed them after researching the needs
and issues of our consumers and now we are keen to meet their needs.”
Moreover,
another uniqueness of these printers is that they are backed by
Epson's FIT (Fast Ink Top-up), which has three specially designed
components-the Epson Original Ink Tanks, integrated ink tubes and a
special choke valve for easy ink refilling as well as convenient
transportation. The ink holder is transparent which allows the user
to know the remaining amount of ink. With these printers, customers
are offered three additional ink bottles of 70 ml each through which
12,000 black pages and 6,500 color pages can be printed.
“Contact
program and shop activities are in the offing which would let the
market to understand he product,” concluded Prasad.
