EMC utilizes Iomega for consumer market strategy

EMC India announced its strategy for entering the consumer market with the
launch of a suite of Iomega solutions for personal and external storage.

Iomega is setting up a strong sales network in Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru
and Chennai to service 46 cities in a hub- and-spoke model, and leveraging its
reach through distributor. The company claims that it will also introduce
external storage and multimedia solutions that cater to the personal, home and
business segments. It will also double its existing partner base of 250 to 500
by the end of 2009.

To reach consumer and business customers, Iomega products will be available
through all major retailers, e-retailers, OEMs and regular distribution/channel
sales.

Iomega also unveiled new products such as the Screenplay Pro HD multimedia
drive and eGo series of portable hard drives with advanced data protection
capabilities. For business users, Iomega has launched its network attached
storage solutions that come with industry standard data protection and
reliability features such as multiple RAID configurations and EMC retrospect
backup software.

Presenting the new go-to-market strategy for Iomega, Alok Ohrie, President,
EMC India and SAARC said, “As per a recent IDC survey, 70 percent of the digital
information is created by individuals. Consumers with their ever growing digital
footprints constitute the world's fastest growing market for data storage. As
the leading provider of information infrastructure solutions in India and a
company with growth high on its agenda, we at EMC are confident that our Iomega
storage portfolio will enable us to increase our footprint across all market
segments in India.”

Rajeev Mukul, VP-Sales, Asia Pacific and Japan, Iomega said, “There has been
a massive explosion of digital information in recent years, and a large part of
it has been from individuals. Iomega aims to fulfill the storage needs of home
users, office users and creative professionals. We are confident that with the
launch of Iomega's new India team, EMC will be able to gain a leadership
position in the consumer market.”
