In an attempt to broaden its scope of business Delhi-based
Elcom TraÂding has established its first retail outlet in collaboration with LG
here in Delhi. The retail shop titled Fone & Fun is the first of its kind of
concept stores initiated by LG chiefly targeted at youth segment.
The vendor is touting Fone & Fun retail outlets as a
converged one-stop-shop from where a customer could get his mobile phones
serviced along side making IT purchases. There are also other freebees on offer
to gyrate customers to Fone & Fun outlets ranging from free download of
music, games and wallpapers from WoW LG to free print out of snaps from mobile
phones.
Talking about its venture into retail arena Somesh Narang,
CEO, Elcom Trading said, “Today retail is the buzzword. Prior to expanÂding
into retail sector we have been focusing entirely on channel sales, but now when
the retail sales are surpassing traditional chanÂnel business; we should better
register our presence in retail arena as well.”
Narang, however, inforÂmed that Elcom would still lay an
equal emphasis on channel sales as well along with retailing.
The promotional activities for Fone & Fun outlets will
also be taken care of by LG. Providing more details on LG's retail roadmap and
rationale behind partnering with Elcom for the initiation of its first converged
retail shop, R Manikandan, GM, LG Electronics said, “We have picked up Elcom
Trading based on our long term assoÂciation with the concern, and we are confiÂdent
that this relationship will reap great benefits for both the parties. LG's
Fone & Fun outlets are the upgraded versions of our cyber shoppe and we will
roll out at least 20 more such brand shops in major metros and mini metros in
the coming quarter.”
