Elango Tamil 2000 launched with 12 packs

Cadgraf Digitals, manufacturers of Elango Tamil software that lets use of Office, Design and Web application programs in Tamil, have developed its fourth version - Elango Tamil 2000 Windows Interface, which comes in 12 different packs. It is compatible with Windows 95/98/NT/2000/Mac. The software comes bundled with nearly 100 fonts and 3000 images and cliparts. It supports the latest Tamil 99 layout, typewriter layout and transliteration layout apart from conventional phonetic layout.

The 12 pack of Elango Tamil 2000 is convenient for users according to the segment they require - personal, office and professional. Elango Personal (Mini) is targeted at the home segment. It is priced at Rs 500. For the office level users Elango Office (Normal, Rs 1500) is the choice and it supports MS Office Word, Excel Access, Powerpoint, Outlook mail, Netscape mail, PageMaker, CorelDraw and Photoshop. Elango Professional (Jumbo), Elango NT Server, Elango 2000 Server is embedded with Pals e-Dictionary (English-Tamil). Users having Mac as their operating system, Elango Mac Pack can be used as the interface. "There are six multilingual bundles which also comes as Personal, Office, Professional, NT Server and 2000 Server," said S Kodeeswaran, Divisional Manager, Cadgraf Digitals Private Limited. The multilingual bundle facilitates 11 Indian languages and they are available in nearly five fonts. Elango Tamil e-tutor assists you in learning Tamil through games. This package has two products - Learn to speak Tamil & 14 Indian Languages (India Speaks) and Learn Tamil through 14 Games
(ThaenMazhi).

"When we started with the first version of Elango Tamil in 1988, it was compatible only in MS-DOS and came only in four fonts. The second and the third version were on Windows 3.1 and Windows 95. As a recent development we embedded the transliteration keyboard layout in all the packs. Here, we can use the English script to get the Tamil characters. We are giving a free upgrade of this keyboard layout to all our existing users," said
Kodeeswaran.

Recently, the company participated in the Tamil Internet 2001 Conference held in Kuala Lumpur, where Elango Tamil 2000 Interface Package saw high sale, remarked Kodeeswaran. "In Tamil Nadu we have 120 dealers and distributors in Singapore, Australia, Malaysia and Srilanka. We are targeting Rs one crore for the coming fiscal from this software," he said.
