ICT has become an integral part of our
daily life today. The e-Governance initiatives taken by the
government in recent years has posed as a tremendous challenge in the
way of creating a pool of skilled manpower resources at all levels.
The need of the hour is to create an ICT enabled government
eco-systems and a ready work force.

Recently, a workshop on e-dispatch and
HP MFP usages has been inaugurated by the honorable IT Minister Dr
Anil Kumar at Hotel Maurya in Patna. Inaugurating the event Kumar
said, “Bihar government has initiated various initiatives for
enhancing the IT literacy levels within government eco-system. Bihar
government's IT policy aims at mitigating the digital divide and
improving IT literacy, by promoting Private-Public-Partnerships (PPP)
for promoting IT literacy in the state. We need to focus on creating
a pool of talented workforce that is capable of handling the
challenges of the growing needs of the businesses, influenced by
global competitive environment.”

Principal IT Secretary and other high
level officials also participated in the event.

Speaking on the occasion PK Sinha —
Director Astric Computers said, “To supplement the initiative of
the state we have created an ICT knowledge and technology
infrastructure for training and utilizing relevant and appropriate
technology and a large pool of talented workforce under PPP. The
prime focus is to promote ICT literacy of the government employees as
well as enhancing employability of youth and enabling women
empowerment starting from the grass root level.”

The main objective of the event was to
share the technology of e-dispatch using HP MFP, which is
successfully implemented in the neighboring state of Orissa and
underway at Assam and West Bengal.
