Gurgaon-based BPO major Efunds finally managed to lift The Eleventh Cyber
Media Cricket Tournament For The Keane Cup after losing in the final for the
last three years. In a keenly-contested final, which was a 30 over a side
affair, it defeated another Gurgaon-based outfit Hewitt Associates by a margin
of just two runs.
Brief score: Efunds 178 altwl out in 28.2 overs (Vivek 31, Bhupender 31,
Rishi 22, Mohit 3 for 25, Krishan 3 for 31, Kunal 2 for 30) defeated Hewitt 176
for 9 in 30 overs (Soumya 45, Kunal 41, Mohit 26 not out, Robin 3 for 25,
Bhupender 2 for 26) by 2 runs. For scoring 31 runs in just 25 balls, which
included six fours, and taking two wickets by giving away just 26 runs in six
overs, Bhupender of Efunds was declared the man-of-the-match.
Wasim Siddiqui of Efunds, who took 14 wickets, was declared the best bowler
of the tournament. The best batsman award went to Hardeep Singh of Efunds who
scored a total of 256 runs. For scoring 215 runs and capturing 16 wickets, Kunal
Puri of Hewitt Associates was adjudged the player of the tournament.
The award ceremony was jointly presided over by Rohit Chand, Director of
Cyber Media (India) Ltd, and Parminder Miglani, MD of Keane India Ltd. Both of
them congratulated all the participants for their performance and also
compli-mented them about playing the tournament in the right spirit. Earlier, in
the match to decide the second runner up, Xansa defeated NIIT by 31 runs.
Brief score: Xansa 240 for 8 in 30 overs (Kapil 44, Vikas 33, Atul 29, Deepak
4 for 60, Raghav 2 for 32) defeated NIIT 209 for 9 in 30 overs (Ashish P 62,
Gaurav 34, Hitesh 27, Ginni 22 not out, Pandey 2 for 37, Vikas 2 for 38, Atul 2
for 40) by 31 runs. Vikas Keer of Xansa was declared the man-of-the-match.
