Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) are launching a range of
diverse chipset solution motherboards for AMD Socket AM2 Processors at CeBIT
2006.
Six outstanding products based on diverse chipsets
including Nvidia, ATI and VIA chipsets and supporting the new 940-pin Socket AM2
processors from AMD will be unveiled by ECS at the show. With Socket AM2, all
six motherboards support curÂrent 64-bit architecture AMD Athlon 64 X2, Athlon
64 FX, Athlon 64 and Sempron CPUs as well as advanced DDR2 memory and
dual-channel technology to deliver high-speed transfers between the CPU and
memory, enhancing overall system performance.
ECS will launch the KN3 SLI2, C51G-M940 and NFORÂCE4-A940
Nvidia solutions. The KN3 SLI2, based on Nvidia C51XE and MCP55XE chipsets,
supports Nvidia SLI technology with dual x16 full-bandwidth VGA slots, boosÂting
performance by up to 45 percent compared to 2x8 SLI. The Nvidia C51G-M940
motherboard features the Nvidia GeForce6100 GPU and PCI-E x16, providing highly
flexible graphics options. The NFORCE4-A940 motherboard features dual DDR2 667,
Nvidia instant-on firewall protection and automatic over-clocking with nTune.
Also centre stage at CeBIT was the ATI chipset-based KA3
MVP and RS485-M940. The ATI RD580-based KA3 MVP motherboard with ATI CrossFire
support provides full-bandwidth dual x16 and extreme overclocking capabiÂlities.
The RS485-M940 motherÂboard, based on the ATI RS485 chipset delivers high
quality graphics perforÂmance whether using the onboard ATI Radeon X300 GPU or
an extra PCI-E x16-based graphics card.
Last, but by no means least, is the K8M890-M940 VIA chipset
solution. The K8M890-M940 features dual DDR2 667, onboard VGA and PCI-E x16 for
additional graphics engine options.
All six motherboards are in full compliance with EuroÂpean
Union Reduction of Hazardous Substances standÂards for motherboards well in
advance of the regulations' July 1, 2006, effective date.
