East India gets its first Oracle University Education Center

Eastern India’s first Oracle University Education Cen-ter
was inaugurated in Kol-kata. Dr GD Gautama, Prin-cipal IT Secretary (Depart-ment
of IT), government of West Bengal inaugurated the sixth such education center in
India, which will offer stu-dents in eastern India with instructor led, online
as well as computer-based training. Oracle University already has its own
education centers at Bangalore, Chennai, Hydera-bad, Mumbai and New Delhi.

Inaugurating the center, Dr Gautama said, "East India
has a large pool of Oracle techno-logy enthusiasts. We appre-ciate that Oracle
recognizes this potential and is investing in developing Oracle profe-ssionals
in this part of the country."

Speaking at the inaugura-tion ceremony in Kolkata, Shekhar
Dasgupta, MD, Oracle India, said, "Indian industry’s acceptance of Oracle
as a pre-ferred technology and appli-cations software has created a huge demand
for Oracle pro-fessionals in the country. Our center in Kolkata will give Oracle
learners in eastern India another option to learn Oracle from Oracle
University."
