Pradeep Jhawar of Bard Roy Infotech observes a similar trend from the last three years. He says, "September and October are generally dull period in Kolkata as consumers shift their focus towards apparels."

Asif Khan of Technocrat Infotech seconds Jhawar and mentions overall economic situation of West Bengal being bad.

He says, "Sales were marginal in the last week but things are moving in the last two days. But we are hopeful of Diwali sales as last year we saw almost 100% jump on the day of dhanteras." He says that channel community is aggressively stocking up in advance for Diwali.

Naresh Kumar Bothra of Computer Exchange exchanged similar jargons, however, he did recall, "The year 2007 was the best in term of retail sales. Things have been static in later years during Durga Puja."
